Microsoft Security Essentials

ISO Recorder V3

An ISO file is an image of a disk and it’s often used to distribute software that can be downloaded and then burn to CD/DVD. InfraRecorder (see previous post in this blog) is free software that can extract burn an ISO to CD/DVD. To create an ISO you’ll need software like ISO Recorder V3. ISO Recorder V3 is simple to use: download it, install it, right-click the file which you want to convert to ISO, select Create ISO image and choose where to save the image.

PrimoPDF

You can share PDF documents across different platform, which is the main reason why PDF documents are so popular. Nowadays, creating PDF documents have become easier and without a need of expensive software. Using Microsoft Office or the free OxygenOffice, which I mentioned on a previous post, you can save the document as a PDF file. However, there is free software that can do the job as well or even better. One of them is PrimoPDF, which allows to “print” documents to PDF. It can create a PDF file from over 300 file types.

If the file can print, then PrimoPDF can create a PDF file from it. It also has the ability of combining PDF files after they have been converted. Additionally, you can add a secure passwords and document information like title, author, date, etc. during the creation.

If you need a more robust PDF creator you can purchase Nitro Pro, but for the most part the free cousin, PrimoPDF will do just fine…and it's free and free is good!
